Technologies inspired by science fiction stories are changing our lifestyle for the last few hundred years.
Yet this should not be such a big surprise since every invention started with an idea: a dream that seems impossible at the time.
Hence science and technology are having an unimaginable bond with storytelling and fiction.

Since everything around us started with an idea, it is hard to imagine that even the most complicated technology was once in just someone’s mind.
But indeed we have managed to achieve so much today, from going to the moon to find a cure for deadly diseases, because we believe we can achieve the unthinkable.
And who can actually image even the most insane inventions than the science fiction writers?
Because of authors like Jules Verne to the Star Trek movies, we have now some of the most surprising technologies inspired by science fiction:
- Submarine
- Mobile phone
- Taser
- Self-driving car
- 3D printer
- Headphones
- Atomic power
Yet these seven inventions are just a few examples of our inspiration from the science fiction stories.
Each one of them has a background story on how inventors were inspired and from what specific story in this episode of Her Impact.
Much effort will be put into the designing of vehicles with ‘Robot-brains’ vehicles that can be set for particular destinations and that will then proceed there without interference by the slow reflexes of a human driver.
