Climate change is affecting the world as we know it. Yet it is not only the weather as the term suggests.
Because all over the globe we witness its impacts, such as glaciers melting and sea level rising.
Even though the most vulnerable are the developing countries and children, however, there is no person who will not suffer from climate change.
Hence we are all vulnerable because it can affect public health.
So this is why scientists are urging politicians to take action. That is why the environment is not independent of us and we rely on it every day.
Climate change is the greatest threat to our existence in our short history on this planet. Nobody’s going to buy their way out of its effects.
Mark Ruffalo
Due to the fact that climate change has many impacts on the environment, public health is most affected.
Furthermore, there are four dependents of public health that are deeply affected by the impacts of climate change.
So these dependents are:
- Clean air
- Food shortage
- Clean water
- Safe shelter
But what health problems people will have, we share them all on this episode of Her Impact.
Therefore I am sharing with you all related problems are caused by these four dependents.
However human vulnerability in the changes of climate is not an issue of recent decades. But climate events have shaped human societies for about 200,000 years.
Furthermore, the relationship between climate change and human health is well documented in Anthony Mcmichael’s book ‘Climate Change and the Health of Nations: Famines, Fevers, and the Fate of Populations‘.
Hence he takes his readers on a tour of the entirety of human history, through the lens of climate change.
The best scientists in the world are all telling us that our activities are changing the climate, and if we do not act forcefully, we’ll continue to see...massive disruptions that can trigger greater migration, conflict, and hunger around the globe.
Barack Obama
