Films that will change how you see the world are different for each of us. Yet there are some that can speak to any of us. Hence they make us think about life from another perspective.
Usually, these films are documentaries that are storytelling about the world. Mostly they are movies on how Earth is working and how we are living and depending on this planet.
Therefore these films give us knowledge but also a different point of view regarding Earth. Here are six films that are having an impact on many people around the globe.
An image of the Earth, its landscapes, directly affects people. The beauty of the Earth creates enormous emotion, and through that emotion, you can transmit knowledge and raise consciousness.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand
Six films that will change how you see the world and your own self are the followings:
- ‘An Inconvenient Truth‘ of 2006 presented by Al Gore
- ‘Home‘ of 2009 by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
- ‘One Strange Rock‘ of 2018 by National Geographic
- ‘Our Planet‘ of 2019 on Netflix
- ‘Tales of Light‘ of 2015 by National Geographic
- ‘Food, Inc.‘ of 2008
Documentaries can make you see the world differently. They can help you make better healthier life choices.
In combination, all these films are filling a puzzle of all the science on Earth and the relation of important issues like climate change and public health.
Yet they also give a much more important aspect for their viewers, they illustrate a different perspective of life.
Hence they show us our life is just a dot to the Earth’s lifetime. Yet our actions have made a huge impact on threatening our health and the environment.
I feel like science continues to be under attack. It's being politicized, and yet we live and die by science in so many ways. Putting it out there that science is great, science is cool, science is exciting, is really a part of my mission.
Darren Aronofsky, director of ‘One Strange Rock’
