Her Impact podcast is here, changing our blog completely. You may have the question ‘why’ in your mind. Well, you changed as a natural new step towards our one year anniversary. The end of October is our first year and we wanted to involve in this new podcast.
The aim is to provide the same content in video form but also to enrich it with interviews. Her Impact will host scientists who want to talk about their impact on the world. One significant aim of the podcast is to showcase the importance of science in our daily and working lives.
We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced.

It is a statistical fact that academic positions are mainly filled with men. On the contrary, graduates are mostly women. Her Impact Podcast wants to become the voice of women in STEM, but mostly women in sciences. Here we want to host women who want to share their own journey in science and employment.
However, we are not here to criticize rather inform about their challenges. We recognise that all women have experienced injustice in any workplace. Yet science is a very difficult employment and most difficult in a successful career. Therefore women are facing difficulties in employment and achievements.
There’s power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice.

For many months now, we have considered this podcast. My ambition for years now is to publicise the obstacles that women in STEM are facing. My personal journey is the only factor driving me to create this platform. But it was not a few weeks ago that I took the leap of faith to do so.
I attended a training seminar, you see, and I met a woman there who said she was reading my blog (always scared when people say that). She mentioned she liked the content, but the grammar was not to her taste. I just felt disappointed. So I said to myself, make it bigger or go home.
And that led to today: launching the Her Impact podcast. Even though I know that my grammar is quite the same, I only feel so much pride. Maybe because my mission is clear in my mind. So, finally, Her Impact podcast is exactly what the title says. It is about a woman who tries to have an impact (small or big) by educating her audience in science and scientists.
