Responsible travel is about being conscious while you travel by respecting the destinations you visit.
It is about being responsible when we travel anywhere: from a big city to the smaller village in the mountains.
Hence it requires respect for the local communities and their environment.
But it also includes having positive impacts on the local economy and nature.
By having so many examples of overtourism, the industry is now focusing on creating a new culture for future tourism.
Tourism is important because it can create sustainable local economies. Id much rather have 1,000 tourists going up the Tambopata than 1,000 gold miners.

Responsible tourism is usually relevant to sustainable tourism.
Wherever you are traveling, you can be a responsible traveler if you remember the three pillars of sustainable development.
To become a responsible traveler by remembering your actions could influence positively in these three points:
- Environment and wildlife
- Local economy
- Jobs for locals
By choosing wisely on your travels, you can have a positive or not a negative impact on these three previous points of sustainable tourism.
Hence you will be a part of the global responsible traveling community.
